Guidance on risk assessment of the use of a chemical substance (mixture) and identification of measures to minimize the risk (preparation of exposure scenarios for chemical substance). Use of these exposure scenarios by chemical product consumers in the supply chain.

This guidance details the processes of chemical safety assessment and documentation of assessment results in the form of exposure scenarios as part of safety data sheets.

The whole procedure is described, from gathering the necessary information to conducting a three-stage assessment and scenario development. The processes of calculation of DNEL and PNEC indicators and use of IT modeling (Q)SAR, ECETOC Tra, EUSES are separately emphasized.

Guidance on the development of exposure scenarios based on the Chemical Safety Report CSR and on the basis of toxiciological and physico-chemical properties of the substance.

This is a practical guide for developing exposure scenarios (ES) as part of safety data sheets (SDS) for chemicals.

The information on safe handling of the substance in the EU is transmitted using a safety data sheet in accordance with the REACH Regulation. Conditions for safe use and risk management measures for specific uses are described in the annex to the safety data sheet - exposure scenarios.

Exposure scenarios are attached to the extended safety data sheets and are usually the reflection of the exposure scenarios in the chemical safety report, but can be developed independently.

Exposure scenario describes the safe use of the substance under certain conditions, under a certain type of use and contains: descriptors, operational conditions, risk management measures and key initial parameters for further calibration taking into account individual conditions of specific consumer use.

Guidance on the development of a safety summary (GPS safety summary) as stewardship documentation for participants of the Responsible care program. Comparison with other accompanying documents on safe use of chemical products.

This guidance presents the Global Product Strategy GPS and provides practical recommendations for risk assessment and development of safety summaries by Responcible care companies.

Product Stewardship (PS) is one of the cornerstones of the Responsible Care program, which is a key mechanism in managing the circulation of chemical products throughout the life cycle to ensure safety for human health and the environment.

Product stewardship is the practice of ensuring health and environmental safety as an integral part of the life cycle of chemical products.

Main principles:

  • Product management is a shared responsibility of manufacturers, suppliers and end users and requires the development of close dialogue and interaction between them.
  • Supply chain participants must share information up and down to ensure the safe circulation of chemicals throughout their life cycle.

Guidance on compliance with the requirements of regulations of Ukraine in the sphere of chemical products circulation.

Thisguidance presents the system of national regulation of the circulation of chemical products in Ukraine, as well as general higher legislation (Laws of Ukraine) and by-laws that regulate a particular chemical sector of the economy.

The guidance highlights administrative and practical processes, such as: state reglamentation and registration of dangerous factors, pesticides and agrochemicals, determination of OELs, licensing of economic activities, hazard classification and labeling, as well as the state of implementation of major international legal instruments which regulate production and circulation of hazardous chemicals in Ukraine in 2015.

Guidance on classification and labeling of chemical substances and mixtures in accordance with the CLP Regulation. Practical recommendations and examples of classification of mixtures. Practical work with the classification and labeling inventory of chemicals on the EU market.

This is a practical guide for chemical safety and certification professionals of enterprises and organizations, as well as other stakeholders, aimed for use for hazard classifications of substances and mixtures, and appropriate precautionary labeling in case of product is classified as hazardous according to the EU CLP Regulation.

Although this guidance is designed specifically for national exporters of chemicals to be plaed on the EU market, it can be used to understand and comply with other legislation implementing the GHS in a certain country.

Clarifications have been provided for effective work with the ECHA Classification and Labeling Inventory, which contains all harmonized hazard classifications and provided by European entities in C&L notifications.

Guidance on EU sectoral Regulations governing the circulation of certain types of chemical products: BPR, FPR, DetR, CPR.

This guidance presents the basic procedures and requirements of sectoral EU legislation governing a particular type of chemical and related non-food products, namely: BPR Regulation (EC) 528/2012 (on the regulation of the placing on the market of biocides), Regulation (EC) 2003/2003 (on quality and safety requirements for mineral fertilizers), Regulation (EC) No 648/2004 (on detergents) and Regulation (EC) 305/20 (on construction products).

The guidance is intended for use by professionals of enterprises and companies, as well as for other stakeholders.
